GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a man who died in a rafting accident in western Colorado.

Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmire said Monday that 56-year-old Dennis W. Janes, of Warsaw, Illinois, drowned after he was thrown from a raft on the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon on Saturday.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports (http://goo.gl/2PmpSn ) Janes was in a raft with another man and a woman east of the Grizzly Creek area.

After he fell out, the two people remaining in the raft pulled him back in and began CPR. CPR was continued on shore, but Janes could not be revived.

The Colorado River at Dotsero, upstream from the accident, was at the high end of historic flows.

Janes was wearing a lifejacket and a helmet.
