JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - A former Fairbanks priest has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, after pleading guilty to attempted enticement of a minor.

Clint Michael Landry was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Beistline. The sentencing was announced Monday in a release from the U.S. attorney’s office.

According to the plea agreement, Landry engaged in negotiations with individuals in the Philippines for the purpose of viewing live video of minors engaged in explicit acts.

Landry entered a plea agreement in March, in which prosecutors agreed to seek dismissal of a second charge, attempted production of child pornography. That charge was dismissed.

The Diocese in Fairbanks, in May 2014, announced that Landry had been placed on administrative leave while under investigation by federal authorities.
