DUMAS, Texas (AP) - A former Dumas postal worker has been sentenced to more than a year in prison after admitting to stealing over 300 pieces of mail to support his synthetic marijuana habit.

The Amarillo Globe-News (https://bit.ly/1Eor1S8 ) reports 21-year-old Manuel Angel Holguin was sentenced Tuesday to 13 months in federal prison and was ordered to pay more than $1,400 in restitution.

He pleaded guilty last year to theft of mail in an Amarillo federal court.

Holguin admitted to investigators he targeted greeting cards and stole gift cards or cash placed inside of them. He said he used the funds to support his addiction to K2.
