GRANBY, Conn. (AP) - An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged threat that prompted the lockdown of a high school in Granby.

Police say Granby Memorial High School was locked down Thursday afternoon after it received word that a student was threatened over social media by a person who was not on campus.

Darien Beasley of Hartford was arrested and charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. The Associated Press sought comment on the charges, but Beasley was detained in lieu of $1,000 bond and it wasn’t clear if he has a lawyer.

Police said more arrests were possible.

The lockdown was lifted after police located the suspect at a home in Granby and determined there was no immediate threat.
