CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) - A cave in Carlsbad Caverns National Park is reopening following repairs to a trail damaged by flooding.

The Carlsbad Current-Argus (http://goo.gl/b8A3yp ) reports that Slaughter Canyon Cave has been closed to visitors for months but is reopening Saturday.

Flooding last fall damaged the half-mile trail to the cave entrance.

Retired caverns ranger Tom Bemis said Slaughter Canyon Cave has large rooms and large formations, one of which is taller than any in the main caverns.

Reservations are required to tour the cave.
