GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Police arrested a Gulfport man on the charge of credit card fraud after a four-month investigation found more than $7,000 of fraudulent charges.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1A3lICN ) 32-year-old Willie Ed Smith Jr. was arrested Tuesday when he turned himself in at the Gulfport Police Department.

Sgt. Damon McDaniel says the investigation started Nov. 3 when the victim issued a complaint of unknown charges.

Jail officials couldn’t provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
