ATLANTA (AP) - Police are searching for suspects after a hit-and-run crash claimed a woman’s life south of Atlanta.

Authorities say the 39-year-old woman was trying to cross a road to catch a bus when she was struck by a vehicle around 8:15 p.m. Thursday near Fulton Industrial Boulevard and Mendel Drive.

WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/17XH4Kh) that the driver left, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name wasn’t released.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area around 8:15 p.m. Thursday to give them a call.

The Atlanta station reports that the driver of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority bus saw the accident, but couldn’t see what type of vehicle it was because it was too dark.
