URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) - Specially trained teams are being set up to respond to Iowa child abductions, aided by portable command centers.

Deployment of the mobilized response team system was spurred by the disappearance of two Evansdale cousins in 2012.

Iowa Department of Public Safety officials displayed their new Child Abduction Response Team command centers on Monday at a hotel in Urbandale.

Michael Motsinger of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says one of the centers will be stationed in each of six regions of the state. He wants to have up to 40 officers trained in each region to work as a unit, using the mobile command centers.
