OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve charged a 21-year-old western New York college student after finding hundreds of illegally prescribed pills and more than $170,000 in cash inside his apartment.

Officials say the Oswego County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant last week at Dylan Soeffing’s apartment in Oswego and seized more than 800 Xanax pills in addition to the cash.

Soeffing is a State University at Oswego student who lives in the Rochester suburb of Greece. He’s free on bail after being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

The drug task force includes the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, the sheriff’s office, SUNY Oswego police, city of Oswego police and Fulton police.

It couldn’t be determined if Soeffing has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
