TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with a fatal shooting in Little River County last month.

The Texarkana Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1O5i04v ) that on Nov. 6, 23-year-old Aaron M. Rhodes was arrested on a manslaughter charge, and 20-year-old Courtney Clemensen was arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence in the death of Matthew Stewart.

An arrest affidavit says police found Stewart’s body in a chair with a fatal gunshot wound to the head at the pair’s residence on Oct 9.

Rhodes and Clemensen told deputies Stewart shot himself. The two later changed their statements, saying Rhodes accidentally shot Stewart.

The affidavit states Clemensen wiped the gun down after the shooting to prevent it “from being forensically processed for fingerprints.”

They’re scheduled to appear Tuesday in Little River County Court in Ashdown.
