PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) - A judge has set a tentative trial date for a former teacher in Plaquemine accused of having sex with students.

WAFB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1Qyoqvt ) state District Judge Alvin Batiste set the trial for 30-year-old Keavin Keith, of Plaquemine, for Feb. 16, 2016.

Keith is accused of having sexual relationships with students at MSA West Academy. Authorities say he fathered the child of one of the teenagers associated with the investigation. The alleged victims are 15 and 16-years-old.

Keith was indicted by a grand jury in July on five counts of felony carnal knowledge and 30 counts of prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and is free on $100,000 bond.

If convicted as charged he faces up to 50-and-a-half years behind bars.
