CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a 61-year-old man who died after an apartment blaze in Charles City.

Fire Chief Eric Whipple says the blaze was reported just before 4:20 a.m. Tuesday. He says the flames were contained to just one lower-level unit at the Clarkview Apartments on the east side of Charles City. Other tenants were briefly evacuated.

The tenant was found inside the apartment, taken to Floyd County Medical Center and pronounced dead there. He’s been identified as Steven Sadler, who lived alone.

Authorities say the fire started in the kitchen.
