PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island children are being invited to create recipes for healthy, affordable dishes.

Gov. Gina Raimondo and her husband, Andy Moffit, have announced that children in grades 5 through 8 can enter the recipes they create into the RI Kids’ Healthy Recipe Challenge.

The contest is being run in partnership with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and Eat Drink RI.

Children should submit the recipe to the governor’s office along with a photo or drawing of the dish, and an estimate for how much it costs to prepare.

The deadline is Nov. 30.

Winners will be chosen in three categories, starter, entree and dessert. The top dishes will also be served during a special luncheon for the winners with Raimondo and Moffit in January.
