NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Louisiana State Police said they conducted a major two-day sweep for people involved in alleged automobile insurance fraud, netting nine suspects.

Troopers say in a news release the fraud involved staged crashes meant to deceive insurance companies into making payouts.

Police investigators worked closely with insurance company representatives.

Troopers say they are still searching for nine other suspects.
