NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Economic development officials in New Orleans say a digital technology company is planning an operation in the city that will create 85 jobs.

The company is called Smashing Boxes. It’s based in Durham, North Carolina.

The plans for a New Orleans operation were announced Wednesday by Greater New Orleans Inc., along with Gov. Bobby Jindal and Smashing Boxes CEO Nick Jordan. The announcement says the company will launch its New Orleans operation early next year.

Smashing Boxes, founded in 2010, specializes in the creation of technology for brands and startups.
