CLARKSDALE, Miss. (AP) - The Clarksdale Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are investigating a double homicide.

WMC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1OK9vyf ) investigators believed the murders took place at 9 p.m. Wednesday night. The bodies weren’t discovered until 11 a.m. Thursday.

Clarksdale police called in the MBI because they have more resources.

According to MBI investigators, the victims are 69-year-old Alton Austin Bruce and 28-year-old Candice Roper. Investigators say Roper lived at the home, but they do not believe the two were related.

Authorities did not indicate how the victims died.

The investigation is ongoing.
