NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Police are working with staff members at a New Orleans school to develop security plans after two teachers were robbed at gunpoint inside the school.

Local media outlets report that the robbery happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday at Success Preparatory Academy, when a man with a gun approached a teacher as she was getting ready to walk into the school, located in the city’s Treme neighborhood. New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison says the gunman forced the teacher inside the school, where he robbed her and another female teacher before fleeing on foot.

Harrison says neither teacher was physically injured, and that no students were at the school when the robbery occurred.

Recovery School District Superintendent Patrick Dobard says the district is working with school officials and police on added security measures.
