SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Slidell police arrested a 14-year-old Northshore High School student after he brought an “airsoft” pistol and knife to school.

Police tell NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/1JJr2yB) the student want to get back’ at fellow students who papered his home as a prank.

Police did not identify the student. He was booked Thursday with bringing a dangerous weapon to school and interfering with the educational process.

Police say the freshman student made comments that he was going to get back at the other students by bringing a gun to school to resolve the matter. He packed the airsoft pistol and a knife in his backpack.

Airsoft guns are modeled after real guns. They typically fire plastic pellets.

Students tipped off school officials and police officers about the threats the 14-year-old made.
