VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Trevor Bouma ran in three touchdowns to help lead South Dakota to a 52-0 win over Drake on Saturday.

Bouma piled up 117 yards on 16 carries and scored all three of his touchdowns in the first half, two from the 1 and a 10-yard dash early in the second quarter. It was the first shutout victory since 2011 for South Dakota (2-1), which outgained Drake (1-2) in total yards, 476-282.

Ryan Saeger completed 11 of 19 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns, including a 35-yard strike to Nick Meyer and a 44-yarder to Brandt Van Roekel. Michael Fredrick and Nate Gunn each ran in fourth quarter touchdowns to pad the lead, while Miles Bergner kicked a 35-yard field goal early in the first half.

Drake’s Cody Thibault completed 14 of 37 passes for 147 yards and had two interceptions, setting up Coyote scores.
