NEWPORT, Del. (AP) - The Delaware State Police is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Newport.

The State Police says the person was struck around 1 a.m. Sunday. State Police says the collision happened on the train tracks between Water Street and E. Ayre Street.

State Police say the pedestrian has not yet been identified.
