ALTON, N.H. (AP) - A man has drowned while fishing in a pond in Alton.

Officials say two men had been fishing Wednesday morning when their canoe tipped and one of the men fell overboard.

The other man was unable to rescue him and called 911.

A New Hampshire Fish and Game dive team responded and searched the pond.

The man’s body was found about seven hours later.

Officials have not released his name.
