WEBSTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 22-year-old suburban Rochester man has been charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and driving around with her for several hours before letting her go and surrendering to police.

Police in the town of Greece say Albert M. Pelusio III broke into the woman’s house late Wednesday night and took her against her will. Officers say he dropped her off at a gas station in his nearby hometown of Webster around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say he surrendered to police around 8 a.m. at a Webster home believed to be owned by his family.

The charges against Pelusio include kidnapping and assault. He’s being held on $500,000 cash bail in the Monroe County jail.

If couldn’t immediately be learned from authorities if he has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
