ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - The Maine Lobster Festival is entering its third day of merriment in the state’s Midcoast.

The lobster festival in Maine’s signature seafood event and originated in the 1940s. It last five days, ending on Sunday.

The main attraction is the food tent, which serves lobster rolls, lobster wraps, lobster Caesar salad and other lobster-related treats.

The event also includes a carnival and music. Friday’s headline is Diamond Rio, a vocal group known for songs such as “Meet in the Middle” and “How Your Love Makes Me Feel.”

Lobster is served from noon to 9 p.m., and the festival expects to serve about 20,000 pounds of it.
