SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police have arrested a man suspected of robbery after a 25-hour standoff at an Ingleside neighborhood home.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/2aYPWGA ) that the incident began Wednesday when the 29-year-old suspect punched a woman in the face and took her phone before fleeing on foot. Police tracked him down at a nearby residence but the man would not come out.

Police hostage negotiators and other officers tried to apprehend the suspect for more than a day before he was finally arrested around 2:30 on Thursday. It is unclear if the man was armed or if he was injured in the incident.

The man was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into the San Francisco County Jail.
