If you’re a fan of the Man of Steel, you have the perfect excuse to hole up in your very own Fortress of Solitude on New Year’s Day.

That’s when five Superman flicks go live on the Netflix video streaming service on Jan. 1: Christopher Reeve’s four outings as the last son of Krypton will be available to watch, plus Brandon Routh’s 2006 take on the superhero in “Superman Returns.”

“Braveheart,” “E.T.” and “The Shining” are other popular blockbusters to be made available on New Year’s Day.

If comedy specials are more your thing, Jim Gaffigan’s “Cinco” drops on the video-streaming service nine days later. The “Cinco” comedy special was filmed during Gaffigan’s recent “Fully Dressed Tour,” which BroadwayWorld.com reports to have included “a sold-out performance at The Madison Square Garden Arena in New York, and smashed a Salt Lake City record with 29,000 tickets sold.”

You can find a full list of the new selections dropping on Netflix in January at Entertainment Weekly’s website here.
