MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) - A 55-year-old Marshalltown man has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a girl younger than 10.

The Times-Republican reports (https://bit.ly/2hBbV5Z ) that Marshalltown police began an investigation on Dec. 1 into a complaint of possible sexual abuse involving an adult male and a young girl.

The man was arrested Thursday and has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse and indecent contact with a child.

He was being held in the Marshall County Jail. His initial court appearance has been set for Friday morning.
