MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - The former executive director of the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for embezzling from the chamber.

Federal prosecutors said Friday that 49-year-old David Glenn Moore Jr. of Catoosa was sentenced to 33 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of wire fraud, money laundering and failing to pay payroll taxes as part of a plea agreement.

Prosecutors say Moore embezzled nearly $440,000 from the chamber for personal use between 2009 and 2014 and that he failed to pay more than $45,500 in payroll taxes to the Internal Revenue Service in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Moore is to report on Jan. 26 to a federal prison chosen by the Bureau of Prisons.
