CHICAGO (AP) - Former Illinois state Rep. Keith Farnham has been sued by two children who say they appeared in pornographic videos he was sent to prison for downloading.

The lawsuit was filed this week in U.S. District Court in Chicago by a pair using the pseudonyms Erin and Fiona. They argue the acts that were recorded caused them “long — lasting and permanent harm.”

The 68-year-old Elgin Democrat was sentenced in March 2015 to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of trading thousands of images and videos of child pornography depicting victims as young as toddlers.

Farnham’s attorney, Terry Ekl, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit.

During sentencing, Farnham said he brought suffering upon his victims “and for that I am truly sorry.”
