SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The University of Utah says the Dalai Lama has rescheduled a speech there.

The university announced Friday that the June 21 event at the Huntsman Center will be open to the public and tickets will go on sale in April.

The 80-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader canceled a speech set for October after doctors at the Mayo Clinic told him to rest. The university says he’s expected to resume his regular schedule after being treated for a prostate problem.

His June speech will focus on compassion and universal responsibility, and he’ll take questions afterward. Tickets for his October visit last fall sold out in about 15 minutes.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Tibetan Community Center.

The Dalai Lama last visited the University of Utah in May 2001.
