PITTSBURGH (AP) - Temperatures forecast to be near or below zero have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a wind chill advisory in western Pennsylvania.

Friday’s high was forecast in the low 20s with a wind chill just below zero. The overnight low early Saturday should be in the single digits, with the wind chill at minus-13 degrees.

Light snow showers were also forecast in and around Pittsburgh starting Friday afternoon into early Saturday.

The city of Pittsburgh is opening warming centers at 24 Citiparks facilities for those who don’t have other ways to stay out of the frigid temperatures.
