HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Voters in Connecticut’s upcoming presidential primary will find some familiar names.

Democratic Secretary of the State Denise Merrill announced Tuesday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will be the Democratic candidates in the April 26 primary.

Businessman Donald Trump, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich will be the Republican candidates.

The order will be randomly selected in March.

State law allows a candidate’s name to be placed on a party’s primary ballot by Merrill if she determines the person’s candidacy for president is “generally and seriously advocated or recognized.” A candidate can submit a petition signed by at least one percent of enrolled party members in Connecticut.
