SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes says he plans to place in escrow nearly $51,000 in campaign contributions from a biofuel company connected to a state polygamous group that was recently raided by federal agents.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1KVroK2 ) Reyes’ campaign manager says the donations will be in escrow while federal agencies continue their investigation. The money comes from Washakie Renewable Energy, which has made about $190,000 in political contributions since 2011.

The IRS and other federal agencies raided one home and several offices associated with the Kingston family last week, including Washakie. No arrests were made.

It’s unclear what the investigation is about. The search warrants remain sealed in federal court.

A lawyer for the polygamous group, the Davis County Cooperative Society, says members are cooperating fully.
