GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - The Warfield Point Park, a popular recreation spot along the Mississippi River, is open again.

The Delta Democrat-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1SQzPcx ) that the park was closed in December due to flooding from the Mississippi River. The park opened Tuesday.

Washington County buildings and grounds director Boris Brandon says the park did not receive too much damage from the high waters. He says most of the damage was from fallen trees.

The Mississippi River crested at 56.2 feet Jan. 13 on the Greenville gage, marking it as a record high for the month of January and the sixth highest flood the city has seen since 1927.
