MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Local media outlets say a man has been arrested after two teenage boys reported shots were fired at them and that they were chased by a car as they drove away from a Myrtle Beach home.

The reports say 34-year-old Richard Suggs was arrested Monday on charges including first-degree assault and battery.

A police report says the two boys were at a female friend’s house Friday night and the girl made them leave when her parents returned home. Suggs saw the teenagers running from the house and getting into a car, according to police. The police report says Suggs fired a gun and chased the boys.

Suggs told police he tried to approach the teens, but they sped off, nearly hitting him.

It wasn’t known if Suggs had an attorney.
