BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Berkeley police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a student near campus last week.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports Tuesday (http://sfg.ly/1WrsGgE ) that a female student was assaulted Thursday at 9:20 p.m. while walking by a popular park.

People’s Park is near student housing and the University of California at Berkeley campus.

Police say a man grabbed the student from behind, pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. The victim reported the incident to Berkeley police.

Separately, UC Berkeley police said in a news release that on Saturday an armed man robbed a 15-year-old girl at knifepoint on the north end of campus.

It was around 9:30 p.m. when the victim was approached by the man. She was not harmed and police were unable to find him.
