SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) - The Latest on the shooting of a police officer in Seaside, Oregon (all times local):

11:45 a.m.

Clatsop County District Attorney Josh Marquis on Saturday identified the police officer fatally shot Friday night in Seaside, Oregon.

He is 39-year-old Sgt. Jason Goodding, Marquis said. He was a 13-year veteran of the department. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The 55-year-old suspect also died.

Authorities say the shooting happened Friday night as two officers were serving a warrant on the suspect for felony assault. The suspect fired and the other officer returned fire.

Marquis said it appears that the fatal shooting of the suspect is justified.

Seaside is a resort town of about 6,500 people on the northern Oregon coast.
