OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Oakland officials are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to an arrest in connection to a Jan. 9 fatal shooting on a commuter rail train.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (https://bayareane.ws/1W6hw0F ) that Bay Area Rapid Transit police and Oakland Crime Stoppers request any information that can lead to identify the suspect.

The shooting occurred at the West Oakland BART station when a San Francisco-bound train pulled in. Officials believe the incident was the first shooting inside a BART train since one at an El Cerrito Station in the 1990s.

Anyone with information is asked to call BART investigators.
