MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Fire officials in Myrtle Beach are investigating the cause of a structure fire that claimed the life of an elderly man over the weekend.

Lt. Christian Sliker of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department tells local media outlets that wind-driven flames destroyed a house late Sunday morning.

A 77-year-old man, identified as Grady Hoyle Queen, Jr., died in the fire.

It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control because the flames were fueled by strong winds from an offshore storm.
