PARIS, Maine (AP) - A 32-year-old Maine woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed her 41-year-old passenger in Paris last month.

The Sun Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1SECvdp ) Asha Doiron was charged Friday after turning herself in at the Oxford County Jail.

Police say Kevin Wassell was killed after Doiron failed to negotiate a turn along Paris Hill Road around 3 p.m. on Jan. 31. The car went out of control, crossed the centerline and rolled onto its roof into a group of trees.

Doiron and her backseat passenger were both injured. Wassell was sitting in the front passenger seat. Police say no one was wearing a seat belt.

Doiron was in jail Monday and couldn’t be reached. Her lawyer didn’t immediately return a message left at his office.
