PITTSFIELD, Maine (AP) - Maine state police say worn tires likely caused a driver to hydroplane and strike a tree, killing him on impact.

WCSH-TV reports (http://on.wcsh6.com/29dZonv ) that 19-year-old Kelcin Dullas, of Levant, was pronounced dead at the scene of the early Saturday morning accident on southbound Interstate-95 in Pittsfield.

Authorities say they were called to the scene at about 1:17 a.m. They say Dullas’ truck had an expired inspection sticker and inadequate tires, which they believe caused the crash during the overnight rainstorm.
