CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A tall ship from the South American nation of Colombia is visiting Charleston over Independence Day.

The ship, the Arc Gloria, is Colombia’s tall sailing ship and is used for training for the Colombian Navy.

The ship docks at Union Pier Terminal on the Charleston waterfront on Sunday and will be open to the public through Tuesday. The ship is open between 10 a.m. and noon and from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. each day.

Colombian Ambassador to the United States Juan Carlos Pinzon will greet the crew at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Wednesday the tall ship departs for Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada. After a port call there it sails east to Europe.
