DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover, Newark and Wilmington have postponed their Independence Day festivities due to rainy weather.

In Dover, the fireworks display has been rescheduled for Sept. 3. The parade, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., has been canceled, as well as evening concerts and other activities. Organizers wrote on the city’s website that the event committee is trying to restore those festivities for Labor Day weekend.

Newark also rescheduled its Liberty Day Celebration, including a fireworks display, for Tuesday, and Wilmington has postponed its festivities until August 20.
