RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Attorney General Roy Cooper is launching the first television commercial of his election campaign for governor.

Cooper’s campaign said Tuesday the ad will air on television stations in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Greensboro. The campaign says the ad will tout the Democrat’s record on consumer protection issues, targeting sexual predators, and commitment to public education.

Cooper’s ad comes five months after Gov. Pat McCrory’s first television commercial sought to tie the Republican incumbent to the Carolina Panthers’ Super Bowl run.
