PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A woman was hospitalized early Tuesday after reporting she was sexually assaulted while walking in downtown Portland.

Sgt. Pete Simpson says the victim told officers the man grabbed her from behind and forced her behind bushes. The woman says the man cut her with a knife, hit her with a handgun and sexually assaulted her.

The woman then ran several blocks before finding help to call police shortly before 4 a.m.

Detectives are looking for a man who’s 5-foot-7 and skinny. The woman said the attacker was wearing a white t-shirt, black athletic shorts, and had a bandanna or towel on his head.
