ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say two people were killed in a two-car crash in northwest Georgia.

Cherokee County sheriff’s office spokesman Jay Baker tells local news media that the head-on collision occurred Saturday morning when a truck going the wrong way collided with a car in the southbound lane. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Baker says it appears the truck crossed into the southbound lane of Wade Green Road at an intersection near a grassy median.

The Georgia State Patrol is leading the investigation.

The names of the victims have not been released.
