LAUGHLIN, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a 49-year-old man jailed in Arizona is suspected of killing of a homeless man whose body was found near a pedestrian overpass in the Nevada resort town of Laughlin.

Las Vegas police said Thursday that Walter William Klatt was arrested in neighboring Bullhead City, Arizona, on an unrelated misdemeanor charge shortly after the body was found a little before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Jail records show Klatt, of Needles, California, was held on a littering or pollution charge and as a fugitive sought in Nevada.

The identity of the man who died near Casino Drive and State Route 163 wasn’t immediately made public.

Police say he appeared to have been in his 50s, and that evidence at the scene showed that he’d been in an altercation before he died.
