HURON, S.D. (AP) - A Minnesota man suspected in the slaying of a man in South Dakota has been returned to that state to face charges.

Thirty-two-year-old Jose Vega, of Montevideo, Minnesota, is one of two men charged with first-degree murder in the death last week of 49-year-old Keith Houck in his Beadle County home.

KOKK radio reports that Vega waived extradition from Minnesota and made his first court appearance Wednesday. His bond was set at $500,000 cash, and he requested a public defender.

The second suspect, 50-year-old Kevin Krueger, of Beadle County, remains jailed on $500,000 bond.

Both suspects are due back in court Tuesday.
