FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) - The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed unrestricted free-agent linebacker Philip Wheeler, an eight-year veteran from Georgia Tech, to a one-year deal.

Wheeler first signed with the Falcons in October. He had 29 tackles with one sack and one forced fumble in nine games, including two starts.

Wheeler (6-2, 245) was a third-round pick by Indianapolis in 2008. He played four years with the Colts, one season with Oakland and two years with Miami.
