LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Two people have been killed and two were injured when a pickup truck collided with a disabled vehicle on a highway in Lubbock.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1XTJyNU ) that police arrived to the scene around 1 a.m. on Friday.

Authorities say 20-year-old Joseph Espinoza stopped his Ford Mustang in the right lane of Interstate 27. Espinoza was fixing a flat tire when a pickup truck struck him and the Mustang.

Espinoza and his front passenger, 18-year-old Mia Brittany Biera, were taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Espinoza died shortly thereafter. Biera died late Friday afternoon.

The driver and passenger of the pickup, who were not named, suffered minor injuries.
