WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - New Castle County Police say four people were found dead in two apartments in Wilmington.

The Wilmington News Journal reports that police and firefighters were called to the Hidden Valley apartments about 6 p.m. Friday. WPVI-TV reports that police said three people were found dead in one unit and a fourth person in another unit. A dog was also found dead in one unit.

WPVI reports that two buildings at the apartment complex were evacuated.

Police spokesman Cpl. Tom Jackson tells the News Journal that the cause of the deaths is not known, but referred to the incident as an “environmental issue.” He says high levels of carbon monoxide were present but would not rule on a cause of death.
